Projects

CLASSIFYING MNIST

Used Python and TensorFlow to build MNIST image classifier using a dataset of 42,000 images utilizing ML tools: Linear/Logistic Regression, Naïve Bayes, Decision Trees, Support Vector Machines, Clustering Algorithms, K-Nearest Neighbour, Mean Shift and Neural Networks. ML techniques were examined to learn new concepts and transfer theoretical knowledge in course to practical knowledge to learn best-case scenarios, their applicable usages, their strengths and weaknesses. Ultimately gained theoretical and practical knowledge in ML techniques.

SCRAPING INDEED

Built a preliminary scrapper using BeautifulSoup and Python's pandas library to scrape indeed for jobs related to Tableau Developer. I pursuced this project to expand my skills in Python (and the Pandas library), as well as learn web scrapping.

CLASSIFYING VOICES AND EMOTIONAL STATES

Implemented a neural network (NN) with a 6GB dataset using Python and TensorFlow technologies that classified 1211 unique celebrity voices. Used a second NN to train a network with dataset of 1440 instances to classify 8 different emotional states of the celebrity via their voice to establish the emotional state of celebrities during interviews. Ultimately gained practical knowledge in Neural Networks.

Work

Who I am

Graduate Software Engineering Researcher from Toronto, Canada

I am an agile and efficient life-long learner and a relative newcomer to the field (3 years) of Computer Science (having switched from Biomedical Sciences). Currently I am pursing a Master's in Computer Sciences at Ryerson University working in the Miranskyy Lab (Ryerson University) investigating the realm of Software Engineering using tools such as Natural Language Processing, Data Science, and Machine Learning.

I am currently working with technologies including Python, Machine Learning and Neural Network suites TensorFlow, Gensim, keras, pytorch, etc. I work with the Research Group using an Agile development mindset to continuously integrate and continuously develop solutions using tools such as git, docker, etc.

I have been a life long ally and spokesperson for all students and student issues currently as the President of the Computer Science Graduate Student Council (CSGSC) at Ryerson University. I sit on and advocate for students on the Computer Science Departmental Council at Ryerson University. I am a proud Individual of Colour who is constantly and actively engaged in discourse regarding a multitude of topics, and a friend for a variety of diverse and interconnected communities.
